That goal that was disallowed just shows that they haven't built a process properly. You can't have people assuming everyone knows what they are talking about. The VAR officials first comms should be to confirm what they are looking to review and what the onfield decision was to avoid any stupid human error like this. Other sports manage to do it why can't football just lift the successful parts. In rugby and cricket you see it regularly talking through what has been called and what they are reviewing.

awooga83 that’s what I always think of. It’s so transparent with rugby referees and for yellow/red cards you can clearly hear them talk through the process and questions they need to consider, and I can’t remember a decision ever being made where the rugby ref doesn’t ask if everyone is clear and in agreement. I’m not sure if that’s the rule for them or just good practice, but it’s blindly obvious that it’s amazing football refs don’t do it.

Panda I'm so used to them treating people like idiots and bringing in protocols to explain human errors and why it can't be changed.

I feel for Darren England a little bit because human error is inevitable, but the lack of standard operating procedures, any VAR script protocol is so poor that it doesn't mitigate for that risk well at all. It's a poor solution to embargo him from officiating Liverpool games for the rest of the season. We're a poster boy for getting '''ked over by a some select refs and nothing like this has been entertained.
