Pepe LeFrits
They have Shearer at 178m
QuincyAbeyie what inflation do you want them to use if not football inflation? i don't want real world inflation because that's clearly not what happened over the years.
i would question their football inflation formula though because it doesn't add up. veron, shevchenko and ferdinand don't make sense when compared to each other.
QuincyAbeyie What inflation should they base it on? Some of those figures are off but the general point is they paid ridiculous sums back then.
Ferdinand for £29m in 2002 when the record transfer fee was 2001 £46m for Zidane. There is no perfectly accurate way of doing it but my point is Chelsea's spending at the time was mad. Nobody had seen anything like it. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/chelsea-fc/transfers/verein/631/plus/?saison_id=2003&pos=&detailpos=&w_s= If you look at that it says €170m back then, that is outspending many clubs 20 years later.
JazzG actual inflation, which tells you what the investors/owners could've spent their money on in instead of football players..?
QuincyAbeyie Wildly misleading tweet. 29m for Ferdinand in 2002 would be about 50m today after inflation.
I think it's intuitive the Premier League has expanded faster than the regular economy? It would seem vaguely reasonable to "adjust" the fees based on overall revenue in the league for example ... the misleading bit is that they call it inflation.
Burnwinter the misleading bit is that they call it inflation.
Well, that's why I'm saying it's a misleading tweet.
QuincyAbeyie Ah, well, I'm glad we agree, because—perhaps on account of the section of text I quoted—I had taken you to be suggesting the tweet misled us by misapplying a correctly named principle of adjustment, as opposed to by misnaming some appropriately applied principle of adjustment.
QuincyAbeyie it depends what you want to show. Are you showing footballs overall increased wealth or are you showing clubs wealth vs each other?
Everton losing 2-1 to Shef Utd away (Pickford own goal, thank god I took him out of my FF team, sorry for anyone that still has him).
If we don’t finally beat Everton away in a few weeks…
Sicario2 - Tier 1 Had an incredible save at the end. Definitely getting full bonus points from FPL
of course Palinha won't be available against Citeh
Clrnc
He ended on 1 point with two point saves but no bonus points due to the own goal
Hope this Doku kid isn't a problem.
Gawd this Citeh match is dull
banduan that’s City though. I switched over to Chelsea just now. Thiago Silva wrestled a man to the floor. No card.
Welp felt like they took my complaint to heart
Quite annoyed watching Spuds play beautiful football with Maddison at the heart of everything.
Clrnc with Maddison at the heart of everything
I don't know why none of the CL teams got him. He's better than any of the Chelsea rejects that us, United and City signed.
How the fuck is that not an offside? Corrupt as hell.
Wtf, clear offside
hmm 2-1 citeh but I reckon it shoulda been offside. Leno's movement makes it easier to be ruled against fulham though.
Fulham have had a rotten two weeks of stuff to complain about 😆
