I don't find it especially misleading tbh, I took that as obvious. I think it's useful to give a sense of the relative fees at the time, given how much money there is in the game now.
I think their football inflation is very questionable, though. How is Shevchenko inflated to 216m when Veron and Ferdinand moved for similar fees 5-6 years earlier? I'd suggest Alan Shearer should be there, he broke the world transfer record when he moved for £15m in 1995. Shevchenko's fee was only 66% of the WTR at the time, which was 5 years old at that stage, and less than half of the fee Ronaldo moved for in 2009. There's probably even a stronger case for Bergkamp being in there over Shevchenko, £7.5m was a lot of cash in 1995.
