Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert I always liked him at Everton, very talented. Was fairly shit last season but the U21 tournament seems to have given him a big lift. Tbf it did the same for ESR but without a chance to build on it won't be worth much.

Wildly misleading tweet. 29m for Ferdinand in 2002 would be about 50m today after inflation. Shevchenko about the same. They've used their own "football inflation".

QuincyAbeyie Football inflation is more accurate though, but their figures seems way too high. Maybe half of those.

what inflation do you want them to use if not football inflation? i don't want real world inflation because that's clearly not what happened over the years.

i would question their football inflation formula though because it doesn't add up. veron, shevchenko and ferdinand don't make sense when compared to each other.

Ferdinand for £29m in 2002 when the record transfer fee was 2001 £46m for Zidane. There is no perfectly accurate way of doing it but my point is Chelsea's spending at the time was mad. I think it's intuitive the Premier League has expanded faster than the regular economy? It would seem vaguely reasonable to "adjust" the fees based on overall revenue in the league for example ... the misleading bit is that they call it inflation.
