goon I didn't understand it last year when one or two on here claimed it was a one time opportunity. The age profile of the squad suggests we're just about entering the peak of our cycle.
As per last season, it's never been about a one time opportunity to do well, but the rarer opportunities to actually win the league. As the three way title race we're currently tipped at 20% (rightly or wrongly) to win this season is demonstrating, doing well is no longer enough most times out the gate.
That's why dropping off steeply after being 5 points ahead last season was hard to stomach. We look much better positioned in terms of the squad at present, but unlike last season, we're not out ahead.
And just as you won't find anyone who disagrees this squad in its current form (give or take) should be well placed to challenge for several more seasons, there are factors we don't like to think about like player attrition, mindset etc. To create a dynasty we'll need to step up one more level.
