I can't believe that I'm the one defending the honor of "Ricedo" but Rice as a Partey replacement, Caicedo as a Zinchenko replacement and Havertz as a Xhaka replacement wouldn't be a crazy usage of those players. It may or may not be the best way to spend all that money, though. I don't think Rice and/or Caicedo playing in attack was ever in the cards at any point. I think people just wanted that to be the case because spending a bunch of money on a Partey upgrade instead of filling the Xhaka hole seems like a waste.

So, overall, my take is that we're probably not going to get Caicedo but I don't see what this transfer would have to do with that at all.

All 3 isn't out of the realms of possibility... Especially if we are going to be able to move a number of players on..

And that is what it seems like to me, club is prepping itself to see what options we can have depending on the numbers of sales we get.

Whatever our plans are for these players, Caicedo and Havertz are so incredibly different from each other that it sounds weird to me that going after one spells the end of going after the other - unless we're out of money and realize we won't be able to do the business we want to.

He is still such a talent despite his struggles at Chelsea. He is now used to pace of English football too. He is not a center forward though and I am certain Arteta doesn't see him as one. He will make us more creative, he has time and a lot of untapped potential. Just struggling to understand how we fit him with both Rice and Caicedo.

Wouldn't want him personally, haven't been that impressed with him at Chelsea and don't think he is someone we should be focusing on at this moment and certainly not for the price quoted.

Overrated player imo. He's shown nothing to suggest that he's worth upwards of 70m at Chelsea.

Don't know how much I believe in Havertz as a midfielder, but he's certainly much more of a midfielder than Felix is.

An attacker was always on cards along with Rice and Caicedo/B2B player. However how this affects the Caicedo deal with Chelsea interested will be interesting. Potential for some trickery!

I think Rice and Caicedo will use up the majority of the transfer kitty but we’ll find another big deal like this through sales. Balogun, Tierney, Xhaka, Lokonga, Smith Rowe and the likes
