JazzG People here (incl myself) weren't exactly on board with Jesus & Zinchenko last season.

TBF most were fairly positive on Zinchenko including myself. I was more against Jesus and TBH he's been a bit better than expected but still has a lot of the core problems I worried about. He was also much, much better for City than Havertz has been for Chelsea. I don't want us spending so much money on a guy who's essentially a lesser Jesus. I want us to go and look for someone who will really challenge Jesus for his spot.

Gurgen you can't judge a player on performances there, especially not last season.

He's been there 3 seasons. He hasn't been good in any of them. His potential at 20 is mostly gone and he's is what he is now. Arteta may be able to get slightly more from him but it wont be worth £60m.

Extremely harsh. Kid is only 24, his best years are ahead of him.

It’s a big risk for sure. For me personally it’s not so much about trusting Arteta/Edu as just salivating at the thought of how things pan out if it works. We will be playing incredible football.

Players in the mould of Havertz excite in a way that Caicedo doesn’t. Arteta spoke about flooding the team with number 10s like in the old Wenger days and this looks like a big step towards that. Odegaard, ESR, Havertz and Vieira is a Wenger wet dream.

The only way I'd be ok with this is if it were a loan with the option to buy next summer. I'd be ok with the club paying him 250k p/w for a year (13M) for essentially a backup WF / backup CF for a year with the option value of bringing him permanently to the club if it works out well.

Qwiss sure, but there are lots of permutations where different tactics makes sense in deploying the overall squad-building strategy. I can see how Havertz makes sense, but I also like him and really hated that he went to Chelsea, so I would see this as a bit of a coup.

The transfer fee seems very reasonable to me if we stick to it, the wages are concerning I admit.

6 foot 3 with great pressing and movement stats could be our more attacking Xhaka replacement.

Funnily enough Romano says no problem with wage front, we are happy with it and he's also happy.

It's the fee that we have to agree with.

I say, take the time to do it. Bayern won't pay up that much, again this is a one horse race. Chelsea will be desperate nearing the end of the window

Think the likes of Aston Villa, Man United, Us are putting on the squeeze for Gallagher, Mount and Haavertz.

goon but the problem I have he's not been an exciting player in his 3 years at Chelsea. He's been average and hasn't done enough. It seems like a lot of hope for something that will cost us a fee and wages that are high. You can look at potential but you can't just dismiss the last 3 seasons no matter how good he looked 3 years ago.

Caicedo may not be excitng but we are a team that conceded too many goals, way too many. We need that midfield reinforcing that's where are weakness as been. And adding an attacker who doesn't really score I don't find that excitng myself.

goon the thing is once Wenger flooded the team with 10s we stopped being competitive. When we had 2 big physical athletic mids with a magician in front of them we were unstoppable.

Plus I just don't rate Havertz at all. I've watched him loads in the last 3 seasons and he's only looked good very, very occasionally. Most of the time he's poor.
