Clrnc interesting read of our current situation and improvements made this season. I'm pretty sure that the Invincibles, as good as they were, would not have been there Invincibles were they put into a Delorean and whizzed through time into this Premier League. We only beat Man City at their place thanks to a present from ol' Safe Hands, for example. That's not happening with this City side.
Yes, we have to be able to compete, and compete better than we have over the last month, but it's okay to look at what Arsenal did up until April 9/16/21/26 and be proud of it as well. It doesn't become irrelevant just because we fucked it in the end - look at the conversations we were having in the aftermath of Newcastle a year ago.
The journey has been huge and, whilst dispiriting that we've collapsed (AGAIN), at least we did it challenging for the league title, not 4th.
The Emirates is a fun place to watch football again, that's massive, the last two seasons (particularly this one) have been the most fun to be in the ground since 2007/08. It's funny there have been a few parallels with that season this time around and interesting to read some of your takes on it. Personally, whilst Birmingham & United away (and Villa home) will always stand out so lows from that year, my overall memory of that season is standing in block 6 on my mate Ben's neighbour's season ticket and laughing in the sunshine. Lots. And the Flamini Sweeney song. Good times.
And I will remember this season fondly too, with some regrets of course. Especially if City continue as we mostly expect them to.
