flobaba The question is, if we don't win the league, does it really matter?
It matters hugely.
Not only would it mean winning this year's title and ending an almost two decade drought, but given the uncanny good spirit around the club this past couple of seasons, given the hype that's starting to surround our phenomenon in the press, the youth of our squad, given the decent chance we'll finish the season with a lot of those key players tied down on long term contracts, as well as all the other commercial, footballing and organisational benefits of becoming the champions, all set against the resources and ambitions of new cashed up pretenders like Newcastle (and likely soon to be United) along with the rest … I reckon it could just about be worth another title on top to win this one, and it would be worth years and years of greater overall success.
Make no mistake, they will come up with some sort of "Busby's Babes" nickname for this Arsenal generation if we win it.
The journalists have begun writing about this Arsenal as if it's something historic. Even just in the last fortnight millions of people finally noticed Saka is world class—one of my Spurs mates contacted me out of the blue to whine about it.
Neutrals love and support us. City are corrupt, Spurs have been harbouring the crooked Paratici and playing impotent football, Chelsea are still shaking off their last round of oligarch blues, Newcastle are owned by the Saudis, United are engaged in unseemly Glazer manoeuvres.
Aside from the issue of Partey, Arsenal's starting to look like the only classy outfit in the league again, and playing a lot of its best football. And we definitely want that capped by a league win.
