daredevil All fair points but, for example, you could find a better finisher than Jesus but still weaken our attack because Jesus' overall play is elite even if his finishing is merely 'very good'. The same is true of Zinchenko who adds an unusual dimension to our game or Odegaard who is the hardest working number 8/10 in football. They've been able to define their role despite other limitations.
Xhaka on the other hand has been excellent but he's not uniquely suited to the role he's playing, he's merely adapted to it. Which is why when we've come up against low blocks, he's sometimes struggled.
I agree that it's not a problem that needs to be solved immediately and rather can be fixed through the general transition of the midfield over the next season or two.
