The issues range from the blatant to the speculative, don't they?
Blatant issues include Havertz being a very poor signing and all the plans to integrate him being misguided, or Jorginho starting repeatedly when he's barely fit for this level.
Evident issues are things like the defensive tinkering that's gone on without any benefit, the poor form and numbers across our attack all season, the media theatre around our first choice keeper while both contenders make errors.
Speculative issues might be the sense that we're over-coached in some aspects, such as security on the ball, at the expense of creativity and directness, and under-coached in others, such as off the ball patterns in attack. I don't really know if these things are true but it's a bit weird when four or five players become more timid and risk averse at once.
The dip in morale and trust is troublesome. We've taken one of the most prolific attacks in Arsenal's history and instead of cherishing it, we've asked every player in it to do more with less, and created fresh deficits by focusing on the old ones. We are persisting with this faltering approach for months without rapid experimentation or change. There's a joylessness about it that shouldn't be with this crop of "hungry lads" ...
There's nothing disastrously wrong with us, but with this reduced output we honestly can't expect to win the title. That may never have been the most realistic objective anyway, but we need more positive leadership from Arteta.
