Martinelli could have had a hat trick, and seems to be finding very areas in the penalty box.

Trossard magnificent. I wanted him for the last couple of seasons, but my word he was better today than I thought he could be. The passing and movement were a joy to behold. Absolutely fantastic stuff.

You need alternatives in the squad who offer something different. Eddie and Tierney play differently to those ahead of them and it's a good thing. It varies the threat you offer as a team and for short spells they can add a new dynamic.

Odegaard in Xhaka's position and Trossard in Odegaard's position has to be given a shot at some point.

The fluidity with which Martinelli and Trossard (Jesus earlier in the season) interchange positions, leaves the opposition defense in complete chaos on how to mark that space. It not only liberates Martinelli and gets him closer to the goal, but also creates more space for Xhaka to run into and you can instantly see he is more effective with Trossard up front than he was when Eddie played there.

I think this is the blue print of how Arteta wants the system to work. Total control in possession playing high risk combinations while also controlling moments in defensive transitions with Partey-Gabriel-Saliba behind the ball.

Clrnc Looks a lot narrower than usual, think this is a tactical change we saw. A lot more threat in the middle than usual, probably done to counter the doubling up on our wide players.
