Anyone saying "FFP is toothless" and "there won't be any penalty", don't forget to factor in the effect of this stuff on speculative behaviour by clubs in the present. It might not be everything we'd want, but this'll have at least some sort of chilling effect on what PIF is doing at Newcastle for example. It doesn't need to lead to crushing sanctions to achieve that impact.

It's also positive how far back it reaches into the past. Should help discourage "blitz doping" by newcomers who think they can get it all out of the way before the Pinkertons come in.

He's not an idiot so I'm sure his appreciation of whatever was going on was at least as refined as that of the average fan, who looks at City and knows the whole place stinks.

But equally as an assistant coach what financial affairs, if any, would he have been privy to or consulted on? None except his own, I expect.

Let’s be real though… everyone knows/knew. The idea that City have grown to be bigger commercially than Madrid, Barcelona, United etc. was always nonsense. What was quite funny is the guy who heads their commercial department tweeted how proud he was and praised his teams creativity. They were creative alright.

Haven't looked into the detail but imagine there will just be some sort of fine that will be barely noticeable or a suspended transfer ban or something that is also hardly noticeable with the squad they have, and there will be some loophole to get around it. Talk of docked points or stripped titles etc is surely just fantasy. Can't remember the details but didn't Chelsea get a transfer ban that they managed to overturn or get around somehow?

Claudius I hope not. I hate Liverpool, Spurs, Man United and Chelsea far more than I do City. Therefore I go into every season hoping they win the league if we can't win it. I have enjoyed them dismantling Man United home and away and frustrating Liverpool over the years. Funnily enough, I was actually still "rooting" for City at the start of the season because I never expected us to be in a title race 😆

Unsurprisingly, my hate for City has grown this season, but still nowhere near the other clubs I mentioned.
