KingslandBarge Will wait for the ink to dry, but feels like we've moderately overpaid for each of our first three incoming signings and the fourth (Lavia?) seems to be heading in the same direction if we engage. Hard to tell from a casual standpoint how much its market conditions and how much Arsenal circumstance or negotiation prowess. It's well and good asking daddy for money, but can they generate good sales? Its been a big hard NO in last few windows so I am interested to see the degree to which outbounds offset these incoming bills.
Yeah agree with that. For Rice we probably got played by City and West Ham but don't think we had any choice that. We showed hand really quickly from the beginning and Ham knows we are desperate for him. I just like the fact City toyed with a bid, it shows they takes us seriously. Previously when United was 2nd, they toyed with them for Alexis, Fred and Ronaldo forcing United to spend more without really wanting to sign them.
For Havertz we did overpay too especially seeing how United don't want to increase bid for Mount and forced Chelsea to lower their demands. But I think this is a gamble that's going to be fruitful and we won't care about the price soon.
Timber and Lavia, remains to be seen
