Positions needing upgrade this summer:
Left Back. I like Zinchenko. But he's going to cost us too much defensively when we don't dominate. He can be a plan B. We need a plan A who can contribute in either direction equally well.
Right back. Benny is decent, but way too basic. Doesn't do enough for us going forward even though that's supposed to be one of his strengths. Defensively he's also pretty suspect in my opinion. I'd upgrade and drop him to the bench.
Midfield. Xhaka seems like he might finally be off. I used to hate him, but now I grudgingly respect him for staying and turning around the trajectory of his career and story here. But he limited us greatly in that position with his lack of mobility and inability to evade the press. Come on Raicedo. Rapist can be sold or drop to the bench.
Forward line. Insane that Jesus' competition is Nketiah. Not nearly good enough. Get in a striker who knows where the back of the net is, and/or will give the opposition defenders something different to think about. I'd go for Toney, maybe get him cheap because suspension. I get the feeling he'll thrive here.
Winger: Diaby from Leverkusen perhaps. We need someone who can give Saka and Martinelli a rest, and yes some actual competition for either of them's starting spot will be good for Arsenal too.
We need to take the next step to becoming an elite team right now. Two quality players for each position. We are ready, and the team is at a prime age/ stage in its development.
