Ha yeah, just the other day I was looking at last year's edition of Guardian's top 100 players in the world and he was ranked #5.

I was worried that we'd be stuck with him on a three deal, but 18 months is grand. This can hopefully help get us over the line and we can still pursue our long term targets in the summer.

James Unfortunately buying rejects from competition will bring about the jeers, regardless of the circumstances. It's part of the game. As far as rebuilding this entire club goes, let's wait for more than half a good season to declare that we are back competing for titles. We are yet to extend Saka and Saliba and as much as we may like to think they will be around for ten years, we don't know what their plans are.

Lol, you're defending this as if our need for a Partey backup was something that arose January 25th or whenever our first bid came through. It's been going on since the summer. Elneny getting injured shouldn't be the thing that makes us suddenly bid 70m for players, we should do it regardless. You should calm down, yourself.

It happens every window like clockwork. Some guys really can't handle rejection. Aston Villa and Brighton dug in and refused to sell, despite the players wanting to join. There's only so much you can do. We didn't have a plan B in the summer and people moaned about that. We do have a plan B in January and people are moaning about that too. People sure do love a moan.

He's coming in as a backup and Partey is playing once a week.

Honestly, I would rather Jorginho on this short deal to help secure this title. The guy is still really high quality. Many folks will hate him because he’s not a dynamite, but if he can play weekdays to save Partey, that is massive.

I’m confident that we get better options and pricing this summer.

I thought that was everyone’s concern with this deal, but seems there’s still a lot of anger about it.

If we had Jorginho with 6 month left on his deal Edu would end up letting him go for free with us paying 75% of his wages till summer.
