I feel like we potentially spend too much time focusing on strength of attack (versus variety of attack). We far out created and out scores the chasing pack in the league. The issue isn’t here.
What we need to focus on our defense and control, and these two are very related. As we lost Saliba and Zinchenko, you saw a knock on effect on Partey, and then the rest of the team just lost ability to control games. Gone. We need to plug that. It’s why I really like both Rice and Caicedo. Both men are good at tackling, ball retention and passing. And athletic. Allows us to keep the ball higher for longer. And if we do that, we will probably generate even more chances.
