if zubimendi was open to leaving in january i think we would trigger his release clause no doubt. but either he's telling the truth or lying about not wanting to leave in january to give barca the best opportunity to work something out for him in the summer. either case the player doesn't want to leave in january so no point in going after him now. moises wants to leave.

I'm not really sold on Caicedo to be honest. Much prefer either a Zubimendi type or (my preference) an out-and-out physical specimen (much like Partey is) like Khephren Thuram or Anguissa (or maybe even both). Beats me why we passed on Danilo, honestly (although he is of course not the immediate Partey replacement we crave currently).

I actually had sympathy beforehand because we've turned their midfield lynchpin's head when european qualification is not out of the realm of possibility. Not so much at the moment
