I'm with you in that Arteta needs to start actually winning stuff but we've got a very good bunch that are improving all the time. Wenger couldn't win a chook raffle in Europe, yet he still had some teams and players that, at certain times, may have been considered the best in the world.

CV doesn't say anything about current level. Nobody doubted Jorginho's CV. Nobody's naive or putting their head in the sand, we just disagree with you trying to create an easy formula for rating whether someone's world class that doesn't even require watching football games.

Edit: and this isn't even about "overrating our players". I'll say the same for everyone - there isn't a player on this earth where I'll say "if he performs in this game he's world class, if not then he isn't".

Saka, Odegaard, Saliba, Gabriel, maybe Rice. These are all players who walk into any side in Europes first XI. Real, Bayern, PSG, Barca, City, Liverpool, etc

Harry Kane has won nothing in his entire career but he's still world class by any reasonable estimation of what World Class means.

We currently have zero WC players imo but in 6-12 months this picture could (hopefully) change.

The world coats midfielders and attackers are quite easy to identify actually. If you look at their underlying data, they separate quite a lot from the very good players on a lot of dimensions.

Clrnc yeah more or less, you could argue maybe for players like DeBruyne, Salah, Odegaard, Haaland, Kane, Trent, etc but that they could warrant discussion in the world XI makes them world class.
