banduan ya why tf is he being forced to play thru it?

He's a professional at the top level and the best players in the world have to play 90 minutes every game, 2 or 3 times a week.

i'm still pissed koscielny missed out on a world cup winners medal because we were trying to nurse him through the end of the season. these players should think about themselves and that alone. these clubs don't give a fuck about you, always remember that.

Meatwad these players should think about themselves and that alone. these clubs don't give a fuck about you, always remember that.

maybe he left that way because we fucked him out of winning the world cup.

banduan it's not something that just goes away. If it's chronic, you have to learn to live with it. 3 weeks off might help, but it might just flare up again right away. Hopefully we see some management of his situation, but the "cure" might be surgical, and even then...

You guys worry too much imo. Arsenal fans have been waiting two years to say ‘I told you so’ when it comes to Saka. Maybe the kids one of those that can just take a high load without breaking down.

goon Arsenal fans have been waiting two years to say ‘I told you so’ when it comes to Saka.

You reckon these Arsenal fans were secretly hoping he plays every minute of every game and eventually breaks down just so they can say they told you?

          Big Willie

Of course. You’re obviously underestimating how important it is for people to be right. When he finally picks up a two week injury after 1000 matches they’re gonna be like ‘I f***** knew it’

Maybe everyone's right? It's normal for players to play through injuries but they eventually catch up and potentially take years off their career at the back end.

Henry's been on record saying that he was in pain almost every week because of a recurring injury between 2003-2005 but no one thinks we should have taken him out of the team: https://www.irishtimes.com/sport/henry-will-go-through-pain-in-heel-of-the-hunt-1.1288454

The difference here isn't whether or not Saka's carrying an injury, it's that he's carrying an injury AND he hasn't played too well.

goon that's not true at all. We are not talking about 2 week injuries man, what are you on about? When we talk tendons, the injuries are devastating, see Wilshere, see Cazorla and shit load more.
And for what? We are talking about the League Cup games he played vs lower league teams, same for the FA Cup, about the EL games, he started EL games last season when we had already won the group. Insane. Let other players get a few minutes as well, it's all I'm saying. It helps the younger players, it helps Saka...it's a win win situation. Also don't ignore the fact that he is affected by the injury, he has been kinda shit for months now

Having fully ruptured an achilles in the recent past (in my case with no prior injury or warning sign) it's no joke to come back from either.

            On Saka’s achilles niggle…

He’s fine. He trained normally today so nothing to report there. Every player has pains or issues. That’s normal in elite sports, but nothing to worry about.

            Arteta not concerned.

Reminds me of what Carragher had to say about Daniel Sturridge

            https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3336957/It-criminal-Jack-Grealish-waste-talent-young-players-need-good-advice-guidance.html

"The one thing I remember most of all from being his team-mate is that he had to feel 100% right mentally and physically in order to play.

"The thing is, with professional football, it’s not often any player will take to the field 100 per cent fit. There is always a knock or something niggling and when that is the case, you just grit your teeth and get through it. But Sturridge’s continued unavailability is presenting Liverpool with a problem now. If they put him up for sale, every top club bar Manchester City would take him over their strikers, but how long can Liverpool wait for him to be ready? Do the club start to think they need to move him on, to get a good fee and save on his big wages?"

Backs up what Qwiss says, these niggles are part and parcel of football. Recently this is what Holding said about White

            https://talksport.com/football/1543274/arsenal-rob-holding-ben-white-mentality-monster/

Speaking on Tea With Timbsy, Holding recalled: "The player who has real discomfort and injuries and just cracks on is Ben White. I don’t know how he does it. I have no idea how he does it.

“When we played Newcastle away in the Amazon year (2021/22 season), he would have had a grade two/grade three hamstring injury easily.

"His hamstring was shot to hell and he went out there and played.

“He’s a mentality monster, I don’t know how he does it. It’s mental.

"He’ll be in so much pain but he’ll just trigger into game mode and play. He’s die hard. He’ll run through a brick wall for you.”
