Might be alone in this, but think £35m for him is a decent deal. I do believe selling him is something we may come to regret one day, but obviously there are no guarantees and better to get this fee now then let an AMN situation develop.

It's not a decent deal at all in this market. Players are going for more just based on their perceived talent, Balogun has already proven himself as a good scorer in a top league.

RocktheCasbah French league is probably the 4th toughest league in Europe. That makes it by definition a top league.

The fact that Lacazette scored many goals last season doesn't make the league any weaker. Just means that he had a great season. He scored more than Messi and Neymar. Wouldn't they get more if it was such a weak league?

RocktheCasbah I still cannot get over how much he scored there lol. How shit must that league be? The guy was out of breath before half time in the PL. It still hurts me to remember Laca struggling here at the end, it was hard to watch him try to play football. 4 goals he got in his last season, his max was 14 in his first year.
He scored 28 there before he joined us, and then 27 last year lol.

It doesn't seem a huge sum by today's standards but he's not gone to a rival in the PL so that alone makes it a good deal IMO.

I think the Balogun deal is very decent. Sorry mates, but the goals he was scoring at Reims were not so elite. There's no way he stays at Monaco if he does become a £100m rated striker as some speculate.

With that sell-on clause, the final value of the deal will be £43m or so if he peaks about in the middle, and £52m or so if he explodes. What more do we want?
