Tierney's name is not mentioned I see. I could see Balogun going for 35+ million. I was hoping Tavares' stock would stay high to when he was scoring all those blinders, but doesn't feel like we could get 25+ million for him now. I wonder if we'll see Pepe in pre-season training/games. I think he deserves more than being shipped to a high bidder in Saudi Arabia. Unless thats something he wants.

I think he'll stay. If we sign Timber and play him as an inverting right-back, then Tierney makes more sense as a LB/LCB than Zinchenko.

It's 2023 and Cedric Soares is still an Arsenal player. I will never get over the fact that we signed him. We paid for him ! He was gonna be free in 6 months, but we paid for him, knowing he was injured!! He came, and got like 2 games before the date we could have brought him in for free. And then, we gave him a 5 year deal. The guy, never got more then a 3 year deal, ever, in his life. We gave him 5.5. Amazing stuff. He was not good enough for Fulham either, I swear, Edu is a lucky boy he has Arteta....

I thought we'd have Tomi earmarked for that role but I guess he can't be relied upon to stay fit.

I'd still sell Tierney and I reckon the club would too, just because he's worth too much on the market not to cash in on a backup. I'd also imagine he'd want to go.

HomeSteak it didn't work out but I don't mind that move. You are going to sign guys on the cusp of either making it or not and that happens. It wasn't a terrible amount of money and we move on quickly. Overall its not a problem, just the cost of doing business.

I think Holding will go and Tomi will take his place in terms of numbers. Tomi's versatility would make him a better fit for the 4th CB role than Holding too as he could get games whenever we get simultaneous injuries to both our FBs on one side.

raul was still around. he wasn't bushed until august of 2020 and cedric was signed in january. arsenal writers were bitching about raul's agent based approach when he signed. the edu link is because kia was his agent and david luiz, willian, and a host of brazilians. i don't think it's a coincidence that we haven't signed any kia players since edu has taken over the role.

I think it’s a pretty par deal for Euro captain at his peak. Weren’t there rumors of a higher willingness to pay from another club in early 2023? Good deal though for us given our track record, hopefully trending in the right direction.

it's easier to sell for good money when your players are viewed as having quality and value to the team. when you perform like shit other clubs say those players can't be that good and you clearly don't want them.

watts also confirms. 21.5m pound fee for xhaka is brilliant. his form was really well timed for us, but it also goes to show that when your team has an overall afterglow of a good season, it helps when it comes time to sell

That's a very good fee. Well done, probably the first deal I think we have sold more than we should.

Clrnc this was always going to happen once we fixed our squad. High performing squad full of good players. They all make each other look better as well. They’ll have a halo in the transfer market. Why it was important to dump the scrubs as quickly as possible.
