He’s basically a healthy and wise ESR. If we can get the real ESR will be a bonus.

Claudius I’d say he’s different in style to Smith Rowe, who is more a powerful carrier of the ball who can counter at speed. Trossard is harder to predict with his dribbling as he’s more nimble.

Can definitely see him being useful in the middle as well as the wings. Smart buy.

lorddulaarsenal that's not a bad shout actually. Think Xhaka has had a brilliant season generally, but both against Newcastle and yesterday, we saw the limitations of having a natural central midfielder in an advanced role. He just doesn't have the same ability in tight spaces as a Smith Rowe. Neither, perhaps more pertinently, does he have the same instincts.

Such a damn shame about him and ESR's unreliability.

Villa is the game to make any changes. If we're taking Xhaka out though then I'd personally play Vieira there or ESR when he's up to it.

Nothing wrong with taking Martinelli out for a bit if we want to play Trossard, at least until Jesus is back.

goon Vieira hasn't really done enough to earn any PL start IMO. I'd save him for the Europa and see if he can show a bit more.

I think Martinelli could thrive off the bench too. Get him on fresh against tired legs and he might get a bit of confidence back.

Throwing Vieira on as a starter would worsen all our current issues.

If Xhaka needs to be dropped and people don't like Trossard, Zinchenko would be a better bet.

You've got to earn your trust but you can only do that by being given a chance in the right context. Not many trusted Eddie until he started league games. Give him a go with Partey, Odegaard and Zinchenko backing him up rather than the likes of Elneny and Sambi and see how he does. Did well in the single league game he started.

I also think he's looked ok in the last couple of games when he's come on.

Often looking a bit isolated with no movement close to him so found three well-executed cross field passes to Saka in the second half. Smart.

We aren't utilising him correctly imo. He shouldn't be hugging the touch line. To get the best out of him, we either need Jesus back who moves laterally and links much better with our wide forwards or need to play Tierney so that he can take the left most attacking lane while Torssard drifts inside in Xhaka's lane who drops back to where Zinchenko would be.

I am Arsenal Till I Die Agreed. Our left wingers are on a hiding to nothing at the moment, but there'll be no tactical change for Leicester. Feel like Trossard deals a little better with the isolation than Martinelli, finding those long passes in the second half rather than going down blind alleys. Martinelli coming on with 30min to go is the kind of attacking change we were lacking a couple of months ago.
