QuincyAbeyie He's a decent player that I like, just slightly underwhelming after we were so close to signing what the club considered a superstar.

If Romano is correct and we are moving quickly to get this done today, then my read is that we've sounded out all our alternative major targets like Raphinha, Torres and Diaby and realised none are feasible this January. I'd say this is a stop-gap for a year or two until a bigger target becomes available.

Knew it. Such an obvious move. Like I said I can't think of any winger available at such a late notice and that isn't more underwhelming than Mudryk.

That said, I like Trossard. Even though he's going 29, he is proven and incredibly productive throughout his career. And hopefully this will be enough for our title charge fingers crossed

He's one of those that has been linked with us for ages when he was young in Belgium and now we are signing him finally. Hopefully in time for United

Fine for squad depth at a reasonable fee. He's a decent player and I'd wager would actually be more useful for us this season than Mudryk would have been.

Price is crucial though otherwise it risks being a poor allocation of funds. The fact Spurs are in for him makes me fear a bidding war (plus Brighton are likely to dig their heels in).

I like this and wanted this to happen. He's the kind of signing who's likely to provide a couple of decisive moments in the long run to the league finish line, should get a few minutes due to his versatility and league readiness.

Hope we haven't agreed stratospheric wages, can't see him being first team next season.

Burnwinter Considering he's desperate to leave and joining a far bigger club I doubt his wage demands will be excessive. Also we seem to be running a lot tighter operation these days so doubt we'd give him too much.

From memory it was supposed to be a title challenge in 2011! Pretty sure that was the season I decided Wenger had fucked it forever because of how poor our winter signings were given our chances.

I'm happy enough with this(provided we actually manage to push this through). He won't be the Reyes that Mudryk could have been for us, but hopefully he can contribute enough to help us over the line this season. The fact that he doesn't need to adjust to the league is huge.

Important to note that Trossard is in fact 28, and not closer to 29. That's a fact.

Recent falling out aside, Trossard’s been one of Brighton’s best players over the past few years.

He’ll be a solid back up to have and I think he’s at a good age to add some experience to the squad. There’s a reasonable chance he contributes more than Mudryk over the next 6 months although the latter has superstar potential.

More importantly we have a war chest for the summer still intact.

20M sounds pretty reasonable for someone who could be a 2nd / 3rd choice player for us for the next 4-5 years (depending on who else we sign over the next year or so). I hope this is more Tomiyasu and less Douglas Luiz 🙂
