Mirth Honestly all that tells me is that Partey played for Arsenal while Rice played for West Ham under Moyes and his style of football. If Rice tried to play like a metronome, Moyes would probably fine him a week’s wages.
Maybe. What it definitely doesn't show is that Rice's is stronger in most passing stats or that he's shown he's capable of doing everything Partey does for us in terms of our buildup play or dominance on the ball as I've seen suggested on here.
Who knows, he might have it in his locker, and he might actually be able to pull it off in a better team, or with better coaching. What he's shown so far in terms of what he actually excels at however, is his defensive numbers and ability to drive and get forward with the ball rather than his passing (be it controlled possession passing or progressive passing).
