This is an incredibly unfair characterisation and a very dangerous way to view player purchases. We first need to be clear what our maximum valuation of the player is. And then when we make a starting bid, use that and conversations to really understand what West Han values, so we don’t just end up paying what they say publicly. What matters most to them? Money, time the money arrives, potential upside? For a foreign deal it could even be something as simple as the currency you pay in. We need to take the time to really understand what they value, so we don’t overpay unnecessarily.

I’m always amazed when folks are like just pay the difference. If you’re off by £20m, that could’ve paid our entire front line’s wages last season. It’s a ton of cash to just give up.

Clrnc again, I don't think West Ham's position is cunty. They've been very clear about what it will take to land Rice - either Arsenal pony up - in which case I think we'll get him, or we don't and we won't.

If we bid £100m and West Ham turn it down, which I guess they might, then we can call them names. But given they've told everyone; a) Rice wants to go to Arsenal; b) how much it will cost for that to happen, I don't think they're gonna price him out of that when they've told him he can go. Perhaps I'm being naive though.

From the sounds of it the 3rd bill will be around that region. I'd expect there will be some more negotiation around structure and then it'll get the green light.

Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert I know his passing is pants 😭 don't think I've ever seen him play a pass through the lines. He's also a massive moaner. He used to piss me off until we were linked with him and he said nice stuff about us when we played them at the Emirates 😂 I do however think he would work for us as the 6 with progressive passing help from inverted defenders.

Don Pacifico I don't know if I agree that a price can even be 'cunty'... I don't think he's worth 100m, but if West Ham would rather have Declan Rice than 90m, then fair enough - in that case it won't make sense to sell for 90m.
