It wouldn't surprise me if we already have an agreement of sorts with West Ham, but given there's no rush on either side due to international duty, pre-seaosn being a way off, and Rice allegedly only wanting to come here, that were happy to let West Ham convince their fan base that they played hardball, really put up a fight, and got the best deal possible.

Yeah was good. They are iconic. Can’t say I know many of their songs other than the big hits though. Second half was better when it got dark and the lights made it more of a spectacle.

lorddulaarsenal yeah, loved it mate but then I was always going to - they are my favourite band after all. Splashed on gold circle tickets as Jo couldn't see a thing last time. Well worth the money, although I would definitely concur that it got better the more the night went on. Even enjoyed the rain towards the end!

I'm still holding out hope that we sign Rice and retain Partey. In my mind, Rice can take over for Xhaka and we'll see a far more robust left flank, and less asked of Partey (and even Zinchenko/Gabriel).

Opinions are wide spread on Partey but I think his season was absolutely brilliant until he fell off form. His role is incredibly demanding and he has a natural connection with Odegaard that others will find hard to replicate. I actually think Rice as a 6 may disrupt Odegaard's game.

[The Athletic]City do want Rice but it would be as a replacement for Gundogan, and Gundogan has not decided on his future. City would also explore offering Phillips as part of any deal for Rice, which adds its own complexities (Phillips wants to stay).
