Obviously City winning is ideal but I have to say I’m taking heart from this performance. It’s pretty bad, especially on the defensive transition.

Tin pot tourney anyways

Can’t believe it’s still around

Amazing that Southampton's collection of wrestlers could be on the verge of putting City out. Has the ref been letting them away with all manner of cheating as well?

Lol City throwing the game so as to not have congestion around our 4th round game.

a month later

Very short VAR look at those offside lines but jammy Man United lead, scoring probably the hardest way you can against Newcastle and after almost conceding just 2 mins back.

Game over probably. Feel good factor cranked a bit too high for United.

Is it wrong that I find this funny given how many Newcastle fans have plagued London over the weekend? They’ve been everywhere. Imagine the come down after all that buildup.

Poor geordies

Sadly ETH is the real deal. He just needed to get through the first month transitional period and afterwards its all good so far for them.

Casemiro is so bloody good. Annoying. Bargain for them

Rashford has been amazing for them this year. Feels like he's developing a little bit later like Kane did.

Newcastle fans are fantastic, bloody hell.

Bryant need to see if he can do it season on season. he's gotten red hot before. not to this extent, but streakiness is in his nature. he's one of those guys where, if he's not scoring, he can be a passenger

The media love in is getting sickening. Utd were clinical again, that is one thing you have to give them. Saw against Leicester they're getting bailed out by there GK and they go and score down the other end.

I thought Newcastle looked better for much of that game but you can see they don’t really have any cutting edge up top.

Meh its the Caraboa Cup. Who cares. Mediocre teams win it all the time and claim its the start of a resurgence that never materialises.

          JazzG Agreed.

I think the 'United are back' angle is massively premature. United are not playing the sort of football he wants them to be playing (remember when he tried to get DDG to play out the back?) and their current style is not something that gets you beyond a certain level. It's basically more of what we saw under Solkjear but with some better defensive players.

That's not to say ETH won't be able to get them to the next stage, but it is the hard part.
