Hot take incoming buuuut...I'm a bit over halfway line goals. Like they obviously take power, technique and vision so I'm not saying they're flukes but they happen with such regularity that I can't help but see them as what they are - a pragmatic exploitation of how high modern GKs play. A lot of very ordinary players have scored them now (can think of three ofd the top of my head)
Personally, I'd rather see a 25 yard pile driver that sticks in the top left-hand corner with the 'keeper at full stretch as opposed to a goal where the 'keeper isn't able to make any real attempt to save it. Maybe it's just my aesthetics? 🤷♂️
