My take is I don't care who wins it. The trophy itself is obviously a joke this year and that's why the final is being contested by the worst versions of United and Spurs anyone can remember.

Spurs can win it and that's fine, because Spurs are shit no matter what and I've become confident they aren't going anywhere under Postecoglou.

But United can also win it and that's fine. I'm not even marginally worried about Amorim. Here's my reasoning.

Whatever Amorim's preferred style he generally hasn't been able to extract performances from United. They've been absolute shit. The only reason they're in the Europa League final is the dire quality of the competition.
United's squad is a disaster. From here they need a three or four window rebuild.
Amorim by reputation is one of these "emotional intelligence" leaders à la Graham Potter. This often means someone else has been handling various technical aspects of his success. That looks like Hugo Viana to me.
United have spectacularly dysfunctional leadership which will prevent Amorim from surviving and getting support. That's the two-headed giant of Jim Ratcliffe, an emotionally needy fuckwit penny-pincher who isn't coping with public failure, and the Glazer family which simply doesn't care.

That's what people said about Ten Hag. United's a mess, Amorim knowing how to fix it doesn't mean he will get to fix it.

Qwiss True, but Ten Hag was a catastrophy in his own right who put them were they are now. He never showed any signs of being able to build a functioning squad. Imagine signing Anthony for £80 million - they should have shot him on the spot. That is the pound for pound worst signing in the history of football, and Ten Hag probably made another 2 or 3 in that top 10.

The missed opportunity for them seems to have been Ragnick in retrospect. He came in and told them quite bluntly that all their players were crap and they needed open-heart surgery, but they didn't want to listen.

Scrolling through United's squad list at wikipedia, and it really is amazing how poorly built they are. Aside from Amad Diallo and Bruno Fernandes there isn't a single player in their first eleven that would start for a top 10 team, and I mean that literally. Player for player they're outclassed by Crystal Palace. Most of these guys wouldn't even make the bench for the teams in the upper half of the table. They have the 19th and the 20th best striker in Premier League competing with eachother for a spot up front, and they cost nearly £150 million combined. Jesus wept.

I want Ange to win it, so it's a shame that has to be with Spurs. I love Ange. I was there when we - Australia - won the Asian Cup. If any of you are from countries that haven't won anything ever or for a long time, imagine how you'd feel about a home grown manager that finally won something for you. Plus, here in Aus the game is always mocked a fair bit by the main codes of rugby league and AFL, but Ange has always always fought the good fight to promote football generally. I love him and hope he wins.

The portuguese press thinks he's heading for Arsenal for what it's worth, but I suspect they're just reprinting online rumours.

Burnwinter player is ours to lose. Based on the press, only reason we’d lose him would be that Arteta likes Sesko more and Sesko wants to come. But both Edu and Berta have apparently put a lot of work into both Gyokeres and Sporting over past year

Burnwinter it seems to be universally accepted that he'll leave sporting this summer, and at a price point well within our reach. if we don't bid then in this window then imo we were never all that interested

Klaus I simply feel when a player records these sorts of numbers or attracts this kind of attention, he very rarely ends up at Arsenal. It's been known to happen (case of Rice for example) but I'm managing expectations.
