Not possible. This has been worked on for a year. This is the best defensive performance we’ve faced in the Mikel era. It was a Simeone type defense were 80% of effort is dedicated to disrupting the opponent’s efforts. Two very solid banks of four that rotates with the play to prevent any on-the-ball progression. And good use of triangles to close down players. It was elite defense.

Spurs would never be able to replicate this next week. We would break it down after 10 minutes.

Given the way the match was going, I'll take a draw with no sendings off. Newcastle didn't offer much threat but their midfield really did a good job slowing us down. Don't think there will be many teams able to do that to us as effectively.

Not the worst result for us, knew it would be very tough to score against the best defence in the league. Pope was not even stretched much they just kept us at arm's length to pot shots everywhere.

This ref was a fucking disgrace, completely lost control at times.

Newcastle were a dirty throughout, but we had them on the ropes first 15-20 mins and should have scored. After that they grew in confidence and sat back in huge numbers. They were there for a draw and set up for it.

How the fuck they decided 5 minutes is beyond me, should have been nearly double that when you consider their time wasting.
