I'd like to see CdK here - I think he will be a good fit for our team. He can play across the front four at a decent level across all positions - will be a good backup for any of them. Can be a utility player a la Trossard and if he can make the LWF position his own, even better. The one thing against him is his lack of speed - he's quite similar to our existing wingers other than Martinelli in that sense.

Burnwinter Vieira, if he can stay fit, will also provide excellent cover for both.

He looks ready to take things up a notch. Deceptively fast, creative with a good shot on him. Our version of Cole Palmer

lorddulaarsenal We do need either Vieira or ESR to step up next season to spell Ødegaard. Arteta doesn't seem to have faith in either one.

I think he does have faith. It’s just he needs his players to be in their optimum physical condition.

Nico Williams - would give us another style of player on the left and he can cover Saka, or free Martinelli to

Central midfielder - Bruno, Zubimendi, Luiz or someone of that ilk

Xavi Simons - too much of a good opportunity to turn down should it present itself

If we get Simons I doubt we could stretch to a striker, but adding him and Nico Williams would bolster the attack significantly.

I think we can do without a new striker if we get Simons and Williams. Simons to drive the ball forward and open up space and Williams for his power.

It's very evident our attack is lacking pace and power.

Do you think? Havertz and Saka have both. Martinelli has pace and he's no powder puff either. Think Saka and Martinelli will only get stronger as they get older too. I would like a new winger and I think pace is important for that but I don't think we are lacking it all that much TBH.

Qwiss Saka doesn't run as directly. He always slows down and wait for his marker to catch up before tricking him.

Havertz is not that fast, like what United had against Citeh yesterday. And Havertz is easily shrugged off by any defender.

Martinelli is our only kind of direct weapon.

While I get where you guys are coming from, how we can be more like United is not the discussion I’d thought I’d be seeing in this thread 😆

Can never go wrong with pace, but if Martinelli, Saka and Kai were allowed to essentially not defend and just wait on the shoulder of the defence ready to pounce on Bruno spamming final balls, they’d we’d look a lot better on the counter. But we’d also probably be easier to break down.

Like I said yesterday, it’s more about adjusting the slider from an abundance of cautioun in those situations to taking a bit more risk and getting the balance right.

We 100% need a speed demon on the wings, we have fast players but we don't have any lightening quick players up top. Someone who if he gets behind the line isn't going to get caught.

I've seen the links to Rashford and an impact player like that would be ideal but he comes with probably too much baggage. We have too many players in the squad who are great a link play but not enough who out of nothing will create a goal. We need more unpredictability going forward.

I think someone like Neto would be perfect, seen him be devastating on the left and right wing, will give us a top class option on both sides. Also will do the dirty work and track back, concerns about injuries but might present an opportunity to get him cheaper and we'd need to manage his work load. Thing about his injuries are they seem to be different, he's somehow managed to pull hamstrings on both legs this season.

JazzG pre-injury neto is bang on the type of player we need. I wouldn't risk signing him now, we need to find a healthier version of him in the market

He's clearly a crock. Has he ever completed one full season? If we went for him I'd be extremely disappointed in Artedu.

Agree that we need a player either with devastating pace or the ability to beat men on the left - someone who the opponents feel the need to double up on which would therefore mean Saka finds more space at times on the opposite flank.

Maybe that’s why we pursued Mudryk like we did.

Anyways a shortlist of options on the left.

Rashford, Leao, Kvaratskhelia, Nico Williams, Neto, Sudakov, Anthony Gordon, Desire Doue

lorddulaarsenal I don't know whether I'm mad or not, probably yes, but last week I found myself wondering whether Arteta might be able to resuscitate Marcus Rashford. He's got bags of talent, it's just the apparent downing of tools is a big concern.

Qwiss I can also point out many instances he got barged away tbh. Chelsea was the only one I can remember him holding his own, but against a very weak and shorter defender in Cucuruella.

Clrnc And I can point to instances where Garnacho and Rashford got barged off the ball. And almost everyone is shorter than Kai so its not fair to discount it because the guy was smaller. You want power size comes with it.

Haaland is as powerful and quick as they come and he gets shrugged and barged off the ball too. It comes with the territory of playing CF. Kai certainly doesn’t lack for athleticism.

He did look weak in his first few months though, but that had more to do with his lack of intensity.

goon you could see as his confidence returned he was much stronger than he appeared early on.
