JazzG — have to imagine Barca’s arrogance isn’t letting anyone sign him for cheap (to offset his wages).

Feels like a Rashford/Havertz style of signing in that you don’t want to be the last one holding the bag if they don’t come good.

That said, I’d take him!!

Zubimendi was so impressive against England, played with real authority in a tricky spot as a sub in final. He's the exact kind of player we need, it's a shame he doesn't want to come to England.

He was impressive yes. First time I’ve felt he’s top
quality though. Was meh against United in the champs league last season

CPM He was more mobile and effective than Rodri. Probably helps that he was very fresh and full of energy.

I thought once Rodri went off Spain would suffer but turned out otherwise

MistaT I have gone off the idea of DeJong, he's always injured and his wages are astronomical. Thats exactly the sort of gamble thats set to blow up in someones face.

lorddulaarsenal If we go into another season depending on Partey and Jorginho's fitness, we have definitely failed this summer even if we get Calafiori and Williams. Have to at least bring in a Merino to add quality cover there.

lorddulaarsenal I think that's a huge assumption to make though. Personally, I felt like he looked to be a shadow of his old self every time he was on the field this season and even if fit, looks to have lost a lot of the athleticism that made him world class. There used to be a good margin between Jorginho and Partey in terms of speed but they looked very similar last year. Hope its just a result of not being fit for the majority of the year and not able to work himself back into shape but I'm not confident he's going to get that back even if he is able to stay on the field. I think that he needs to be replaced for sporting reasons this summer (and should've been replaced for non-sporting reasons much earlier).

I think maybe he had lost too much muscle. He looks noticeably different this pre season

lorddulaarsenal I could live with that. Would be ideal with Partey replaced by Bruno G but our left side malfunctioned last season and that looks like it'd do a lot to fix it.

if PSG sign Osimhen we should try and get Gonçalo Ramos.

        Calafiori
        Guimaraes
        Raphinha

Now that's a title winning window. Still would rather Nico than Raphinha but he's still a very good player who would fit in well with our squad.

        R Calafiori
        Nico Williams
        M Merino / Left 8

If Eddy leaves then we need a striker/no9 to compete with/play backup to Havetrz

If you don't want Raphinha and Nico Williams goes to Barca, where do we go? We need to strengthen both the LCM and add another winger to push on from last year IMO.

Would you rather gamble on Neto's health than go with Raphinha?

I'd only take an upcoming talent like Doue or one of the South Americans if we also were bringing in someone like Eze or Neto that would definitely move the needle this year. We need someone who is going to push Martinelli for his starting spot this year from day 1 in order for us to continue to grow and win the title this year, which should be the goal. My only issue with Eze on the wing is the lack of true gamebreaking transition speed between him and Saka. That being said, he would vastly improve our left side dynamics and allow us to break down mid/low blocks more easily.
