Pepe LeFrits Maresca's public comment on the separated squad gives the vibe Chelsea are hoping to bully a few players into forfeiting their contracts, or taking a reduced payoff. Given how stupid it sounds there, and how badly the exiled players will lose out career wise given zero chance to play, it's a tough choice for them.

Just saw the new CL format. First I was like wtf, then I was like actually, facing 8 different teams would be quite interesting. Although, a league table which ranks teams despite not every club facing each other in the table just doesn't seem right.

Big Willie Sepp actually had a really good season. Started 33 games in bundelsiga and received a lot of praise.
Going out to another league and playing makes a difference. We’ve had some of our younger players not take this risk, or go on loan and have some really bad luck (Patino had two disrupted loans, for example)

Brighton closing in on Ferdi Kadioglu for 30m. Really like what they have done this summer. Wieffer is a great signing and now they are also linked with O'Riley from Celtic to strengthen their center midfield. Georginio Rutter is more of a swing but he seemed to have a good season for Leeds last year and a lot of people like Minteh who they bought from Newcastle. Still think they need to strengthen the center of their defense but these moves in addition to already having a solid core could position them for a top 6 run this year.

Qwiss we are linked to a "madness". Speculation is rife that it's likely to be a winger. If that's the case, they are either coming to back up Saka, or we are doing what Claudius always advocates for - replacing top down. And if that's the case, Martinelli is the one who is going to be pushed out. Arteta is ruthless like that. He didn't wait till ESR was 29. Or Ramsdale. Or Nketiah. Or the Porto kid. Once your replacement is in the squad or you do not provide consistent positive impact, you're moved on. This has been the trend.

flobaba We are already light in attack, if someone comes in it wont mean someone else leaving. Plus Trossard is further down the left wing pecking order than Martinelli when both are fit by the looks of things. I think if we get a left winger Trossard will still get plenty of minutes though but more as a utility man than a nailed winger. 4 wingers, most of whom can play more positions is no big deal anyway. With ESR, Vieira, Eddie and probably Nelson all gone we need another player in attack.
