JazzG they are balancing immediate bookings of sales with the long amortisation of these mega deals. So on their income statements, these big deals are only £10-15m of expense each a season instead of double that. It’s incredibly smart in the short run..,
.. but if a bunch of these players don’t work out, they’re going to take a hit when moving them out because if they sell them lower than their fees, that loss will flow through. Or more likely they get Gazidis disease and lots of players have to leave on a free.
