If Liverpool bring him in they don't need to fit all of them in at the same time.. having a WC player on the bench ready to come on is exactly what a top club should have... they can rotate and not lose any quality, while keep the top players fresh...Really hope it doesn't happen as don't fancy our chances against that kind of fire power.

Lads I’m honestly not concerned by Liverpool. We are better than them. At times last season we played at a level nobody else in the Premier League matched.

Scary physicality, combined with a high technical level and immense game intelligence

And on that front, we’ve improved our match nous. Zubimendi is a true maestro whilst Gyokeres brings an intense determination. We now have strength in depth to help maintain our level

Isak or no Isak that puts down a marker and sends a statement to the rest of the Prem that we mean business.

I'm not sure a Wirtz Isak Salah is that well balanced at all. Is Isak going to do the donkey work that the likes of Firmino, Jota and Nunez have been doing to allow Salah to do his thing? I doubt it. Ekitike would probably work better for that.

They've lost Trent too and Van Dijk is 34 now. They should be favourites but talk of it being over if they get Isak is frankly daft.

Pepe LeFrits exactly this. They're loading up on attacking talent but not much behind it. Their midfield is ok, there is no one world class in it. I wouldn't swap one of their first 3 mids for one of ours. Same in defence pretty much. Virgil is obviously one of the best PL defenders ever but he's 34 and losing a step. Konate is good but his heads turned. Robertson is past it, Trent is gone and Frimpong just isn't at his level. Kerkez is decent but he's not as good as peak Robertson. I hope if they get Isak it means they can't get Guehi.

I think Trent is a huge loss for them. Such a unique player and a catalyst for a lot of their quick attacking football.

Yep it’s a fair amount of change. Their form also dipped in the second half of last season - they basically won the league due to their early season form. Ok, that may be a consequence of that but I’m not sure they’ll be able to elevate it to the level it was.

Anyways we have the squad and tools to compete on all fronts now

I reckon Pool will go for Isak once they ship Diaz and Nunez out. If they pull it off would leave them with Salah, Ekitike, Isak, Wirtz, Gakpo, Chiesa(?). Isak and Wirtz aren't as reliable fitness wise as Salah hopefully that will continue...

Let's see if Newcastle manage to hold their ground. Would be a step back for them to lose him. Oil clubs don't sell their star players lol.

Diaz seems like a poison signing 29 this season, weak and relies on his pace. Good stats this season but generally not amazing. I think Liverpool feels his value will tank.

Speedster Yeah definitely the right time for them to sell. I wasn't that impressed with him last season although he did put up good numbers like you say.

Qwiss eh, re their midfield, it’s by design. They don’t want or need creativity there. That’s how folks like Henderson made a career out there. They have an elite defensive screen in Gravenberch and McAllister/Szoboszlai are decent enough at what they do - close down spaces, recover the ball and pass it forward quickly, then join the attack as late runs from midfield. It’s very effective. They are a very “vertical” team.

TambourineMan But in the business end of the pitch, their front 3 with Isak would be miles better than ours, it's not even a contest.

So, lets say we sign Eze.. You think Isak, Wirtz and Salah are miles better than say, Eze, Gyokeres and Saka? Not sure i would agree with that. Not to mention, Wirtz is in a new league, Isak is a muscle injury waiting to happen with the increase in games, and Salah starts well and fades as the season goes on (and he will be missing for a month for AFCON, and when he comes back from that, he could realistically be wiped out physically).

On paper, they would have a great front line. But that's no guarantee that they all work well together.

USArsenal if theyre all healthy, yes I think liverpools front 3 would be better unfortunately. isak and salah alone have a proven track record of being individual match winners as well being among the top producers statistically. eze is yet to produce those kind of numbers, and although the forecast for gyokeres is good, he's still an unknown quantity in the epl
