Let them at it I say. Clubs should sign players to fit their system; trying to find a system to fit their players doesn't usually work that well.

It looks scary good, but as with anything there's never any guarantees.

Wirtz and Ekitike are new to the league and Liverpool and need to settle in. Isak has his fitness concerns. Salah is not getting any younger. If they sell Diaz, they've lost 2 very important and settled players from their attack.

They'd be favourites, given that they are also the reigning champions, but we still have a chance over 38 games. City are still there and Chelsea are the best team in the world apparently. Plus there's plenty other good teams that can take points from anyone on their day in this league.

Our team is already good enough to stand up to any team in the world, Liverpool would be no different, even if they manage to add Isak. Hopefully we can add Eze and give us as good a chance as we can to prove it consistently over the season.

It's going to be an exciting season. Will be so much sweeter being crowned champions in the end, if our rivals are hyped up to be super strong beforehand.

No its not. That't mean they are paying £120m for either Wirtz or Isak to play out of position.

If Liverpool get Isak then we need to assess our summer window v what they did as it’s all relative at the end of the day.

If they get Isak we MUST get Eze. Then it’s game on.

Bear in mind these mugs are spending £300–400m because they know they got fucking lucky last season. Their activity has them seeming rattled, and frankly Slot's never had to contend with a setback till Jota. Ekitike is probably already pissed off with this Isak chatter.

Qwiss Why would Isak be out of position? Wouldn't he play CF?

Qwiss with or without Isak, I reckon Liverpool are going to play Wirtz from the left. If they play him as one of the three in midfield, it still doesn't change anything as it'll be Gakpo-Isak-Salah with Wirtz in behind which is better going forward but would make them a little lightweight in midfield. Point is, however they play it - they will have the best attack in the world, a very competent midfield and the best CB and GK in the world.

They'd be overwhelming favourites, and we would need to put up a 90+ point season to even stand a chance.

flobaba probably but most seem to think Wirtz was bought to play false 9. So either he or Isak would be out of position. The other option is they change formation which is fine, go for it. If they want to change a winning formula let them at it.

Tactics it'd really be pathetic after Liverpool took Ekitike away from them.

That's the standard now. I don't see it as beyond us as long as Gyokeres hits the ground running and we don't have another disastrous season injury-wise.

flobaba currently they are 2-1 favourites with us and City quite close. This would give them a boost but like you say not overwhelming favourites. If anyone thinks they'd be overwhelming favourites they can go and double their money.

They would not be overwhelming favorites. They do not have the squad depth and quality that we do for instance. They might be slight favorites but I'm backing us over them this term. Van Dyke is older as is Salah, we've got our dogs going into the peak of their careers.

flobaba they have decent depth in most positions, but are probably a little light in central defence hence their interest in Guehi. CB aside they are stacked. Plus they'll have Isak and Salah, two players who have ripped this league apart the last few seasons, and I'm not naïve enough to think that any of our attackers are on that level.

For the first 8 positions on the field, I'd say it's quite even between the two teams with us edging it slightly.
Squad depth is largely equal.
But in the business end of the pitch, their front 3 with Isak would be miles better than ours, it's not even a contest.

Would just make winning it all the sweeter.

So, lets say we sign Eze.. You think Isak, Wirtz and Salah are miles better than say, Eze, Gyokeres and Saka? Not sure i would agree with that. Not to mention, Wirtz is in a new league, Isak is a muscle injury waiting to happen with the increase in games, and Salah starts well and fades as the season goes on (and he will be missing for a month for AFCON, and when he comes back from that, he could realistically be wiped out physically).

On paper, they would have a great front line. But that's no guarantee that they all work well together.
