Klaus How do you move on from that situation as a club?
Finish 16/17th win the Europa cup and blow another £200m! Annoyingly they are being linked to players like Cunha/Mbeumo who are PL proven and will definitely improve them. But they still need a major overhaul in midfield as well as defence.
Klaus This is another reason why I wouldn't sign anyone who doesn't have a proven track record. It's fine to sign a Sesko or a Delap in additon to someone else and then loan them back for a season to let them develop, but betting on a 22 year old who has scored 13 Bundesliga goals to come in and establish himself as first choice is going to end in tears.
Also depends on the environment you bring them into. If a player like that comes to us or Liverpool, they come into a stable dressing room and knowing that every single one of their mistakes aren't under a microscope and they're given time to settle in. Whereas at Man Utd every player they sign, they are looking for their saviour and put unrealistic pressure on them.
If we signed a non proven young striker, we still have Havertz. While I know many on here aren't fans but I think he is more than capable of leading the line and allowing someone else to settle in. Problem with Utd is as well they pay stupidly over the top fees because they aren't in the CL and desperate to sign the player. Just look at their business for Yoro, £53m for someone who is a great talent but completely unproven. This summer someone like Huijsen is available for £50m who is further in his development and a massive talent.
