Draw seems like a fair result.

US possession in first half was impressive, and they defended:pressed smartly. But they were static in their final attacking sequences which led to hopeless crossing. Needed to be bold and attack 1v1, or narrow the pitch for five and go’s. Sargent didn’t help much, wouldn’t be surprised if he had less than 10 touches all game.

Wales looked the part in the 2nd and were worth a goal. What a needless tackle though!

Wales vs Iran will have huge implications for the group.

Yeah, quite surprised at how the US looked in the first half, looked the best that i've seen them and technically proficient. I agree with their lack of ideas in the final 3rd. The manager Berhalter doesn't seem to be that great though, how did he not bring on Gio Reyna?

I think Tyler Adams is another player that will probably find himself at a bigger club in the future. Could be a decent Partey backup for us.

Must have been a record amount of injury time added on for one day of a World Cup today!

So happy for Saka with two great goals this morning. Going from missing the decisive penalty in the last game at the last tournament to 2 goals and MOM in the first game at the World Cup. Think his first was the loudest I've ever celebrated an England goal. Haven't been many England goals from Arsenal players in my time, and certainly not in the tournaments. Last I can remember is I think Walcott coming off the bench at Euro 2012 and scoring almost straight away. Before that Sol got one at WC 2002 (not to mention two famous disallowed ones in quarter finals in 98 and 04, not our player in 98 of course). Hopefully not another 10 years until the next one! First time in my life my favourite and my club's best player has also played for my national team.

It will be like this whole tournament moving forward. Wengers idea basically to add accurate time wasted was already implemented in the Arab cup

Yeah for all the shit FIFA rightly gets this is actually a sensible change, Collina said it can't be that the ball spends 5+ minutes outside of play per half even including injury time and he's right.

Saka has more world cup goals than England's top scorer Rooney.

no profit in stupid time wasting now.

You still can time waste though, in the added time they don't count

USA and Wales both look poor to me. I think England will walk that group.

England are walking all the way through their side of the draw.

Think they'll be fine until the quarters. Could face France then, wouldn't fancy England at all there.

Maybe Saudi-Arabia are shit, but Argentina are playing some nice football. Looking very good!

Argentina with three goals ruled out for offside and then Saudi-Arabia score instead. Not impressed at all with the defending on that goal.

Absolutely insane how Saudi is basically just outclassing the Argentinians on offside trap. Just put some very fast defenders against the ageing strikers

Tetaball would unlock this blind chasing saudis in two moves.

Fucking shite refs missing a knee to the face and letting play go on. Unreal.
