Recon we’ll see a midfield trio of Partey, Rice and Odegaard

With Rice taking Xhaka’s old role. The links to Onana tell me Arteta plans to use Rice more advanced. The plan is probably to be dominant winning the ball to pin opponents in.

Could also see Havertz take Odegaard’s role whilst Mart shifts to the right to give Saka a breather

I wonder if Partey could play the left 8 role. Certainly feels like Martinelli could thrive off it.

I'm not so keen on Rice as an 8. I don't think his decision making is great high up the pitch.

Agreed, Rice is poor when he runs towards the edge of box. He makes a better 8, if he comes deep and sits in to form a double pivot, which we seldom need. But he's miles off being effective around the box.

daredevil Positions can rotate... think having him there will give more freedom to the like of Zinchenko to get forward more with Rice covering. Could work well... Need someone with a bit more guile in 6 role

Rice is actually very capable in and around the box. Scored his fair share and is good at sliding in the wide players

Partey can play left attacking mid - he’s been tried there previously.

However I think we need his range of passing and evasiveness deeper. He may well play as an inverted RB too

I remember people here in the summer saying that selling him for £20m and getting his wages off the books in the summer was ludicrous and we shouldn't consider selling for less than £50m. These are the same people furious that we don't "sell well".

I went on this thread from june till now and on the "arsenal outs 2023", and read all posts from june till transfer deadline day and there was not one post who said we should not sell Partey for less then 50 mil. Don't know where you are getting that, you probably just convinced yourself people said that so you can then be condescending.

Majority of people here were happy for 20 mil, a few of them wanted him out for a while just for the allegations alone(they wanted him fired so to say), and all just wanted any DM here and would have been happy too see him go.
We all rate him, but it's been clear for a long time he is scum and made of glass
