flobaba Rice for Partey, Havertz for Xhaka is good, but overall in my view is more a case of maintaining a holding pattern than improving the squad significantly
On the one hand it's not likely to improve us immeasurably on the pitch, although I think we'll be surprised what Martinelli or Trossard and Jesus might be able to do with Havertz on the left versus Xhaka.
But it's far more than "maintaining a holding pattern" given we've signed these two dudes at 23–24, in line with the remainder of our squad, while Saka, Martinelli, Saliba, Ødegaard and Gabriel all as I understand it have secure contracts.
We look set to have about six lads minimum in our first XI, players who are already elite, reaching their physical and technical peak simultaneously over the next two or three seasons. I can't fault the way "Artedu" have been creating the conditions for success.
