Team long moved past Tierney. It’s good that our identity is so clear that the fans can easily evaluate current players and potential targets and say “yay” or “nay”. Notice how someone like Antony was a buzzy name, but nobody picked up on him as an Arsenal player.

I think Fresneda has the talent to play either a traditional outside back role with overlapping runs or also develop to play in an inverted role, a la Zinchenko. He looks very solid defensively but the composure on the ball under pressure is what has really caught my eye. To me, he has everything in his locker to be a world class outside back and is the type of signing that I think could propel the team to an even higher level once he starts to reach his potential in a couple of years. I won't be surprised if we are looking at a player who is valued at 50m+ in a year or two. Hope we are able to beat Dortmund to him.

QuincyAbeyie Julien Laurens was making a fair point about a bit of a clog at RB at Arsenal (White, Tomiyasu, both bought by Arteta). Maybe thats factoring into where he may be landing? I would love to have get a super talent in there still if thats what he can be.

From reading about Zubimendi has been heavily linked to Barca as a replacement for Busquets.

JazzG If Barca want him to replace Busquets we should be all over that, because Busquets 2.0 is exactly what we need in that position.

Clrnc I don't think we should be signing two top CMs in one window. Need to build upon this team, not tear it down!

Need to sign either an improvement or understudy for Partey first, I think we could cope without Xhaka but we are fucked without Partey. Getting someone in January will be hard though.

MistaT Seen him a couple times and looked big strong defensively but didn't see any other standout qualities. Limited viewing mind you but we need a technician there and he doesn't come across as one.

Anyway fwiw just went on Everton forum and most of them are saying he's been their best player even though he had raw moments and is devastated he's leaving

Clrnc yeah, did not turn up for training today. Something is going on, don't know we will go for him, but he seems to be off
