Klopp won 1 PL and 1 CL in 8 years - that's the benchmark for me. Arteta is halfway there with nothing to show.

I wouldn't expect a CL - but a PL certainly, even though we aren't the highest spending club in the league, don't have the highest wage bill, nor are the most prestigious. We're a bit like Atletico who won 2 titles in 13 years under Simeone, so yeah I would expect Arteta to win at least one before his time is up.

No, because we are asking him to overachieve. We're giving him fewer resources than his rivals, whilst expecting him to beat them. It's not failure if if he can't beat them, but it would be disappointing not to win the league given how close we are.

We're expecting him to win far less trophies than City. Seems fair enough.

Claudius I think this is correct and I think its why people were so heavily invested in this transfer window. Everyone knows we are right up there and we all want someone to tip us over the edge into a truly legendary team.

It's not just trophies, though, is it? People wanted him out 5 months after he won the FA Cup, so the expectation isn't trophies, it's specifically the PL and CL.

For most, a bunch of trophies if comprised of FA Cup's and league cup isn't going to cut it.

Arteta definitely needs to win something big to be able to say he hasn't failed, and to be fair I'd wager he'd say the same himself.

That doesn't mean you can't appreciate what he's done regardless.

We've won a league title almost every decade except the 60's and 2010's, so we're due one. Curently on our longest ever title drought too.

Well, just one to start with would be nice.. Or a CL.. FA Cups are great, but i think we would give that up to win one of the other two. And we have a strong team, so we should be able to compete for both of them.

Our transfer window last summer looking more and more impressive every day. Rice, Havertz, Raya & Timber have seriously elevated our level. This season finally getting to see Timber as well.

JazzG it was a massive transfer window, which is why it is so surprising that it was so derided initially.
Kai Havertz is turning into a phenomenal player. He's our best 9 since RVP. The guy does so many things well. The way he holds up the ball, his workrate in both directions for 100 minutes every game. And also the way he works defenders is great, pulling them out of position. Part of the reason we can survive without Rice and Odegaard and a down game from Saka is how this guy has stepped up as a pillar
