I don't even consider jesus a silver bullet, but my feeling is we'll be more satisfied with his debut season vs lacas. not the highest bar I know. I'll also admit I had issues with lacas signing from day one, and I rate him lower than most gooners probably would

I believe he will improve our football. I am very happy with this signing. It will be nice if he can develop a greater hunger for scoring though. I don't see Arteta coaching us to move better so hopefully adding players like Jesus helps make us more fluid naturally.

Our new signings looking good in the red and white, and we sucked it our rivals with this one particularly. Hopefully, Nketiah and Jesus are aptly due for a level change and flourish this season. I wouldn't let that deter us from still getting another one in at centre forward.

I am surprised though that we went from a Vlahovic type of forward to Jesus. Personally makes me happy even if I have my doubts regarding Arteta's ability as a coach to get these players to play freely.

Fantastic signing. I really don't understand the sceptism. Best and most proven striker signing we could realistically have hoped for.

I don't think thats so weird. Obviously Arteta will have a preferred type of striker but his number one concern will be quality. I think then you could also say he's not a big risk taker in the market so he's always going to go for a proven player. Add to that he knows and trusts Jesus as a personality so it makes some sense. I do hope that Jesus versatility means we will keep looking for that ideal CF though.

Jesus is a good signing.

I'm not going to say he's an elite striker because he's not.

We need another addition in the front 3 who can either slot in or compete (Raphinha).

Otherwise Jesus alone isn't going to get us top 4.

Jesus, Saka and one more upfront. Then we're talking.

Get in one quality CM and then we should definitely be thereabouts irrespective of Harold and Son.

Also I'm curious to understand who could have been markedly better.

Osimhen isn't exactly scoring by the bucketload either.

For 45m you won't get much better than a guy who's played a significant part for the champions. (Albeit not as a striker)

This deal was pretty much done since April/May and we were confident since the start due to our contacts which is why it is so unexciting. Open secret.

I like the experience and winning mentality he should bring to our team, especially the forward line. We need one or two more of this profile of signing, with strong personalities who can push this young team up another level.

Good start to our transfer window.
