So we're past the point where you would expect him to be fit and useful now? The signing never made any sense but most people told me I was wrong to be so down on it.

invisibleman18 seems I was wrong. Arteta initially said it was indefinite, now it’s been updated to early January.
If it was indefinite, wouldn’t make sense to pay for him. If he’s back in a couple of weeks, then he can stay.

Don Pacifico sure, but people being down on Vieira doesn't mean they think it's worse than not signing anyone. It just means they don't think it's enough.

QuincyAbeyie maybe. It's not what Qwiss has suggested but if that's the way people feel, I don't see the point in dwelling on an ideal scenario as opposed to trying to find the best option within our current constraints.

Vieira scored better goals than that while he was here, but he was still shit.

Don't think Vieira has been that good for Porto from what I've read.

He showed some real glimpses of quality last season, his through balls were superb, think after that red card he just seemed to never recover. Still think there is a good player in him.

JazzG yeah, agree that there's talent there. Feels like the most likely conclusion is that he's just not a great fit for Arteta's system. The fact he can't/doesn't do what Ode does off the ball is why I think Arteta's resorted to playing him on the wings where he has less defensive responsibility.

I've heard he's been fairly decent for them. Not setting the world on fire, but decent.

USArsenal he's at his level. Taking a risk on a signing like that is ok but you don't want to get tied to it. If we can get half of what we paid for him I wouldn't be too upset at the club.

Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert

He's a weird player because I hardly recall any moments where he was in possession of the ball in general play. You hardly ever notice him so it's like playing with ten men. Pretty good end product though.
