He most likely won't. Big part of that is obviously due to the lack of application and concentration like you said, but I also think we've shafted him by our bizarre decisions in the last two years. Careers don't pan out just because someone's talented and works hard, arguably even bigger aspects than those two is to have decent managers in charge of you and sheer dumb luck.
Shame, really thought he'd make the RB position his own after Arteta's first few weeks at the club, still contend out of all players we have for the position he's shown the highest level for it. Oh well, shame it'll be another season of subpar performances there but I assume we'll make another big defensive signing next summer.
Yeah, it was a genuine question and I appreciate the genuine asnwer.
I thought he could have really been something at right back too, but I've given up on hoping that'll happen. And it was definitely self-sabotage for a time where he fancied himself as the new PV4.
Even so, he could have gone to Roma and made it impossible for them to let him return to London. But he didn't, and I wasn't surprised by that. And I don't think he'll grasp the nettle here or at his next club. Sadly, I just think he doesn't quite have it in terms of talent or professionalism.
