Seeing that Arteta said today that Zinchenko's main position is LB and Fabrizio saying that we are Tieleman's preferred destination, the only acceptable reason not to get him in is if we get a better CM.

I really hope we’re just slow playing Leicester until they get desperate.

I think he’d be a great option to have. He plays a lot on the right side of the midfield for Leicester but there’s no reason he couldn’t play on the left here. He’s a good striker of the ball, has a great first touch and is a decent presser of the ball. Obviously not the quickest though.

Great time for him to make the step up to a bigger club. Think he’d prove himself to be a good signing in no time.

That's my biggest concern, tbh. I can picture him jogging/running at slow speed especially when chasing play. Xhaka is slow but he's always in position.

But if we're continuing with inverted fullbacks then we can afford freer CMs with reduced defensive responsibilities which would mitigate that issue.

My mind keeps changing on Tielemans - he has some great qualities, but he's also weak in some key areas.

I also can't help but see the fact that we have left him sitting there all summer as a sign we either don't rate him as a game-changer or aren't interested at all.

If he can be got for £25-30m, then he'd undoubtedly be a good pick up regardless, but I think we need a starter. Someone to push Xhaka for his spot and do a decent Partey impersonation - if that player exists?

We either have someone else in mind or we aren't recruiting in that position just yet. I hope it's the former, because we're clearly willing to move fast on secondaries if a primary target falls through.

I don't think you can get someone do both roles well, but get someone with real quality as an 8 and overall in midfield we wont miss Partey as much if/when he is out. I like Tielemans, will need to up his work rates to fit in but he has a lot of quality.

I'm not sure what to think about this. I'd prefer to get our business done and have players in camp for pre-season. But we waited until the last day to pull the trigger on Partey, and it wasn't because we had doubts.

we waited odegaard out as well. he was always considered a primary target, and we ended up getting a good price for him. we could be sweating Leicester out. from what I've read they're in a bit of a transfer gridlock that's preventing them from buying players, and have to wait for a few domino's to fall eg. tielemans

Xhaka won't be pushed out. The staff love him, the players love him. He will leave only if he wants to leave. Like him or hate him, I think he is here to stay. Hope Lokonga can step up.

I actually prefer them to stay even more than Xhaka, especially AMN who have a high ceiling. Just need to get his head down ffs.

To be fair to him I don't think it's his attitude, I just don't think his ceiling is all that high personally, his passing is just inherently inconsistent. At his best he was a good defensive wing back but I don't think he's ever had enough going forward even if he managed to sure up his passing.

The lads going to be 25 soon, if he was ever going to be a player we would have known it by now.
