Are people still criticising Arteta's perceived arrogance for the 'I am the solution' quote? The context of that soundbite is really important as it's in response to Auba saying Arteta had a problem with him; in other words trying to frame himself as the opposite of how he was being cast.
He also said:
"I do lot of things wrong, for sure. But the intention all the time is the best - and not for me, it is for the club and for the team"
I've also never agreed with the notion that he's arrogant because he falls out with players - it's asserting his authority and whether he's an experienced manager or not is irrelevant as it's a legitimate management style (which you may/may not like) that has to be imposed without fail in order to actually work.
And to not like the manager because 'you think he's a bit of a dick' seems a bit odd to me when he clearly has the best interests of the club at heart. Any perceived dickishness is ultimately with a view to trying to improve the club, which is what I care most about.

I think a huge credit must go to the owners and Edu, because like what everyone said no top club will have this kind of faith after those 3 seasons we endured.
Every season when we got worse they continued to back us more with more funds
Agree - it's a rarity to see this kind of faith in a manager in modern football (which is a shame) but I think they bought into his long-term vision even if that vision seemed somewhat imperceptible to a lot of people whilst we went through a rough couple of seasons.

And if Villa accepts our 30m bid then we tell them nah joking our first choice was Odegaard?
I think we can squad build in this scenario even if Ode was always our first choice. May just have meant that we didn't end up buying Vieira in the summer (for example). I think that's particularly relevant given we're always considering players who have the capacity to play multiple positions.
