The polish, or grease, is coming off Arteta.
"The journey continues" - Mikel signs extension until 2025
ceiling manager. where we are right now is about as good as its going to get under him imo.

That's the only thing that will make me feel better. I want a toxic stadium.
Just get him and the Kroenkes out of the fucking club. Prick's right, we do need a culture change, and it needs to start with him, the mustached cunt, Vinai and Edu. None of them have a fucking clue. We'll never go anywhere with those vile corporate stooges making the decisions.
"The journey continues" sounds very ominous at the moment.

Those 2 weren't scoring for Nuno.
He has entirely changed their shape and even brought in players that were previously out of favour.
Exactly managers matter. Players performances under different managers vary.
In Wenger's last season, we scored 54 goals at home. In Arteta's two full seasons, we have scored 55 and 56 home and away combined.
We didn't need a lot, just a win against a relegation battling team that was safe already. A team we won the last couple dozen matches against, a team that can't play fucking decent football to save their lives. We couldn't

Conte is a miracle worker. A great coach will always be a great coach.

We had Auba scoring for fun, on pace with Kane until Arteta started being a prick to him. Dropping him, playing him out of position, etc Pepe was a 20 goals Ligue 1 player, even last season when he got half a season he scored 10 but he's marginalised for not being safe enough. Thats how you get where we are now. Anyone with a bit of personality, flair or passion is marginalised. Elneny, Xhaka and Cedric stay.

Like a threat.
David Moyes' West Ham has scored more goals than us this season, as has Brendan Rodgers' Leicester City.

Jeez, please tell me this is some fake news stat. Our attack has been failing the eye test all season, but I never knew it was this bad.
I wish we'd never gotten Arteta and gone for someone a bit braver in their approach to attacking.
Unbelievable bottle job from Arteta. Amateur hour.
His game management is shocking. He has 2 moves beyond like for like subs. If we are ahead put on another defender, concede possession and go backs to the wall. Or if we are behind get rid of all the defenders and put on forwards. Its incredible how little tactical nous he has.

Yup.
It's proven time and time again manager matters more than 2 or 3 players upgrade in football. Our players would look so much better under a capable manager.
You don't need to buy an entire new team just to be able to change shape, instill philosophy or play attacking football.
It also takes the piss that everybody he fallen out with or chose to ship out for dirt cheap prices is doing very well elsewhere.

Exactly. It's true we don't have a world class goalscorer to make the difference in the way Kane and Son do, but that's on Arteta. We had Aubameyang, we have Pépé. He just doesn't have a fucking clue how to use them and he couldn't handle Auba not obeying his every word. He, rightfully so, gets a lot of credit for signing the likes of Partey or Odegaard, but this squad is 100% his. It was his decision to banish Auba, it's his decision to marginalise Pépé, it was his decision to go with Tavares and Cedric as back-ups for Tomi and Tierney, the latter's injury proneness wasn't a secret. It was his decision to not play AMN and then give him away in January. It was his decision to extend Xhaka and now apparently Elneny. The quality of the squad is no excuse. He was the one that gutted it in the first place instead of doing his fucking job and working with what he had at his disposal.
With his brand of football even if you put Lewandoswki there we won't score much more. We don't even create chances or work the ball to strikers much.
Unless it's Messi who does everything himself nobody is saving our attack to another level when you can't build up play

Arteta is like a parasite that's fallen onto the perfect host. We've had a bunch of players that were genuinely not good enough or stealing a living and he's made his career off of creating a "culture" by getting rid of them and convincing everyone that that was his job
When every other manager would've done the same in addition to actually coaching the players at his disposal and getting us to a level this squad is 100% capable of getting to

I do not believe it is fair to accuse Arteta of not instilling his philosophy, I just happen to fucking hate it, his style of football and alienating players.

Absolutely. But we are told he can't play attacking football because the players are shite and we need a total overhaul. We are told by buying players from the back that can pass we will be able to beat press and play attacking football instead of buying a cm or a striker. We are told we need 2 to 3 years to genuinely improve as Kroenkes are not backing the manager much and structure is shit etc.

It's genuinely baffling people bought into all those theories and even praise him for superb squad management etc.
