We're keeping Nketiah and his 2 yarder and 2 league goals a season prowess and he will leave most likely on a free.

14m bids rejected last summer and now keeping him as just a body because Auba turns up a day late.

Arteta has put his pride over our ambitions of getting top 4.

I wonder if both Arteta and Edu have over estimated how much KSE was willing to let us spend this season, and they've effectively blown all the money in the summer thinking there was more available. They may have also thought KSE were providing the funds themselves whereas it may be yet another loan for the club to pay off.
Either way something has gone awry somewhere, and it may well cost us any hope of regaining top4 anytime soon. If this squad cannot do so now with only league games to play, they sure as hell are not going to do so when they have UEFA games to play if we make UEL or the UEFA Conference league, and I don't see KSE approving continued spending as seen last summer. Perhaps they'll be in a good mood with the Rams making the Superbowl.

Yeah but the money for Vlahovic was going to be paid in instalments as well as involving a player plus cash, so there may have only been a pittance to be paid up front raised from any loan fees received.
